We just got back from a trip to Maple Grove Pool where we had fun in the water and ate watermelon by the side of the pool. It was a pretty darn idyllic family scene, but we didn't bring our camera, so you'll have to do with this random photo I found on Flickr.
Maple Grove Pool is a very family friendly outdoor swimming pool. It has a gentle sloping entry, a toddler slide, fun fountains, an island, and it's only 1M at its deepest point. Sophie absolutely loved leaping off the island into our arms and asked for us to do it again and again. We had fun grabbing her by her hands and feet and dragging her through the water. Sophie was generally gleeful, until the slight wind chill got to her and she started shivering. Overall, it was a much more successful outing than last year's trip, when she wasn't too keen on being in the water at all. We're looking forward to more trips to Vancouver's outdoor pools throughout this summer!
